The timbers we use to build our garden rooms are carefully selected for their strength, durability and build characteristics. The three common choice of timbers we use are Cedar, Spruce and Oak. All of our garden rooms can be built in the below timbers.
Cedar Garden Rooms
Cedar is a softwood widely used in the quality garden building trade for its attractive appearance and distinctive aroma. It has a distinctive red colour which requires minimal treatments due its natural weather protection and excellent stability. Our recommended choice for beauty and longevity and we typically build most of our garden rooms from Cedar.
Spruce Garden Rooms
Spruce timber is a relatively soft and light wood with straight grains making it strong and resilient, ideal for simple construction designs. The perfect cost effective timber choice for an attractive and strong garden room. Our Spruce garden rooms are the ideal choice if wanting a painted exterior. Timbers such as Cedar and Oak do not respond well to painting.
Oak Garden Rooms
Oak is undoubtedly the best timber for building and has been used in the construction industry for over 1000 years; the surviving buildings bear witness to the lasting properties of an oak framed structure. An Oak garden room is the ideal choice for those wanting a premium garden room to last generations.
